A nurse will call you 3 to 5 days prior to your surgery for a pre-op screening and to provide instructions. In general, there are three important things to remember prior to your surgery:

1. NOTIFY YOUR SURGEON immediately if you experience any health changes prior to your surgery. Please report even minor symptoms associated with colds, flu, or tooth infections.

2. THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY, do not eat solid food after midnight. You may be allowed to drink clear liquids: (water, tea, coffee without cream or milk, 7-UP) on the morning of your procedure. This will be included in the instructions provided by the nurse.

3. MAKE ARRANGEMENTS for an adult to drive you home from Carolina Center For Specialty Surgery and stay with you through the night.
