Job Description:
Carolina Center for Specialty Surgery (CCSS) is looking for a full-time Surgical Technologist.

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist in the operating room applies surgical technology skills to assist in providing patient care in the surgical suite under the supervision of the Director of Surgical Services. The Surgical Technologist assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities. The Surgical Technologist maintains clinical competencies as appropriate to the ages, developmental stages and special needs of the patients served.

Essential Functions:
1. Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior to each surgical case.
2. Participates in making assessment of the needs of the patient and surgeon. Learns these needs by taking advantage of physician preference cards and knowledgeable peers.
3. Performs surgical scrub duties according to department policy and procedure.
4. Perform sponge, instrument and needle counts according to department procedure.
5. Provides the surgeon with requested instruments, supplies and equipment in a timely fashion.
6. Maintains sterility of surgical environment.
